We've acquired and built some interesting equipment over the years. Needless to say, most of it has a specific function.
Here's a closer look at what functions this equipment performs in the brewhouse.
The Making of "Baby Face II" for the "Tour De Brew III"
Below are some pictures taking during the making of "Baby Face II". The beer falls into the category of an American Ale, spiced with pumpkin pie spices and lightly hopped. Since this was my first all-grain brew, some steps went differently than originally planned. The beer will be lower in alcohol and less sweet due to a lower strike temperature of the mash water. The recipe and final stats will be posted on the web page soon.
Back in the summer of 1998 I built a 3 barrel All-Grain Brewery. The picture below shows it in action with my brew assistants looking on.
This is a picture of the inside of the Mash Tun. Shown are the barley grains being sparged. Sparge is just a fancy brew term for rinse.
Here is a close-up of the Hot Liquor Tank feeding the hot water to the Mash Tun.
My assistant overseeing the transfer of wort from the Boil Kettle to the Primary Fermenter.
My assistant points out that the wort is lighter in color than "Baby Face I".
My assistant wants to drink the "Baby Face II" now!
